Liebherr uses a FrostSafe system where drawers are sealed to retain cold. If the automatic defrost fails, ice can expand behind the drawers, locking them in place. Do not force them open, as the plastic will crack. We safely melt the ice to extract the drawers and repair the defrost heater.

The red alarm indicates the temperature has risen above the safe threshold. This could be due to a recent power outage or a door left ajar. However, if it persists, it points to a sensor failure. We check the actual internal temperature with our calibrated thermometer to verify if the alarm is real or a sensor ghost.

If the water supply is active, the issue is often a frozen water inlet tube or a faulty solenoid valve at the back of the unit. In some cases, the infrared sensor that detects the ice level is dirty or defective. We can safely thaw the fill tube and test the valve electronics to restore ice production.

"NoFrost" means you should never see ice inside the compartment. Visible ice indicates that the automatic defrost cycle is failing—usually due to a clogged defrost drain or a burnt-out heater element. If ignored, the ice will eventually block the fan. We disassemble the rear panel to clear the drain and replace faulty defrost components.

SuperFrost is designed to run the compressor continuously for rapid freezing, but it should automatically switch off after about 30-65 hours (depending on the model). If it stays on indefinitely, the electronic control module might be stuck. We can reset the logic board or replace the module to prevent premature compressor wear.
